Blogger to WordPress migration

Today I’ve managed to transfer my old (13+ years) blog posts from Google #Blogger (Blogspot) to #WordPress.

It was surprisingly easy:

1. Blogger: Export
2. WordPress: disable Activitypub plugin (to prevent flooding of my #fediverse followers)
3. WordPress: Tools / Import / Blogger (XML file)
   • It asked me which XML file
   • It asked me under which user will I publish
   • That’s it!
4. Deleted a bunch of imported categories (which were tags in blogger)

Surprisingly, publication dates are intact.

I’ve also noticed images are still linked to Blogger. At the same time, I find images from Blogger in my Media library. I’m puzzled.
